Sponsor School Field Trips to Edelman Fossil Park & Museum for Low-Resourced Public Schools
Field trips ignite a sense of awe and wonder by taking children beyond their familiar surroundings and into the prehistoric world. EFM's mission uses the story of the rise and fall of the dinosaurs to inspire a love and appreciation for our planet. By connecting classroom learning with immersive experiences, students gain the knowledge to make a positive impact in their communities. Our goal is to make the museum accessible to students of all ages and backgrounds, especially those from Title I schools, where at least 40% of the student body are low-income or at-risk.
Why Your Support Matters:
- More than 1,000 schools from across the region have expressed an interest in a field trip to EFM, many of them low-resourced.
- In New Jersey alone, more than 210 Title I schools struggle with hands-on STEM education due to insufficient resources.
- Title I schools span 309 of New Jersey's 564 municipalities.
- Even with EFM’s regular discounts for schools and convenient location, teachers have shared the #1 barrier to field trips are resources available for admission and bussing.
